Hair ConditionIf you’re desperately missing regular visits to your favourite hair salon at the moment, don’t worry, you’re not alone. We are missing our lovely clients too and hoping everyone is safe and well! But while you may be stuck at home, there are things you can do to make sure your hair is in great condition. Here are a few tips to keep you going until you can make your next appointment.

1. Reduce the amount of heat you use

This is an ideal time to give your hair a bit of a rest from heat processes, try blow drying it with cooler air for instance. Wrapping your hair is another way to straighten without damage. There are numerous helpful Youtube videos showing the different methods, and also how to curl your hair gently. Or simply take the opportunity to appreciate your hair in it’s natural state.

2. Be kind to your hair

Cut down on hair styling products, and concentrate on using mild shampoo and thorough conditioning. You can buy some very affordable moisturising conditioners and hair packs, or consider making your own. This can be done using a vast choice of ingredients such as mashed avocado, honey, vinegar, olive oil and beer. Check out online advice and recipes.

3. Brush you hair often

Don’t skip brushing and grooming your hair just because you aren’t seeing your public! Brushing is really good for your hair, distributing natural oils, which discourages dandruff formation. Damaging tangles and knots are also avoids.

4. Scalp massages

Massaging your scalp is a fab way of not only removing dead skin cells etc, but stimulating the scalp is proved to lift your mood. [and boy do we need that these days]

5. Eating a healthy diet

Last but not least, in fact probably the most important item on the list is diet! Your outer body [and hair] reflects what’s inside. If you desire beautiful, shiny locks it’s recommend to include certain foods in your diet. These are things like fish, eggs, chicken and dairy products for protein, and dark leafy greens, fish, red meat and chicken for iron. Foods containing vitamin C, vitamin A, Zinc and Selenium will also strengthen hair.

Hope this guide helps, and look forward to seeing you all soon x
